Excel Centre Coach Hire

23rd December 2021

We’ve been providing coach hire across Kent and London since 1975 using our fleet of over 100 vehicles, so we know the area like the back of our hand. Our team frequently arranges travel to the Excel Centre and whether you are visiting for an exhibition, conference or even hosting an event yourself we are more than happy to assist in planning your group travel.

Opening in November 2000, the ExCel Centre has a rich maritime history. As one of Europe’s most significant regeneration projects, it’s got plenty going on within its grounds, such as nearby shopping centres, restaurants and hotels, as well as being right on the River Thames.

As one of the largest spaces in the country, the ExCel Centre has been home to some significant events and projects.

  • London 2012 Olympics

The space is so varied and complex that the ExCel Centre hosted seven Olympic and six Paralympic events, including boxing, wrestling, weight lifting, and table tennis.

  • NHS Nightingale Hospital

During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the ExCel Centre threw its doors open to the NHS to become an emergency hospital for those in desperate need. The hospital was large enough to hold and treat up to 4000 patients, with 80 wards, whilst keeping to the two-metre social distancing rule.

While You’re There

If you’re heading up to the ExCel Centre for a conference or just for a day out and fancy a change of scenery, why not hop on the Emirate Airline over the Thames to the O2. Opening in 2012, it links these together with ease, whilst getting to see the London skyline from a whole new level. There’s plenty to do at the O2; whether you fancy a bite to eat, there’s retail therapy at their designer outlet, or watching a show in the arena or the cinema, there’s something for everyone.

If heights aren’t your thing, Stratford is just down the road with plenty of food, drinks, and shopping choices. If you’re a football fan, you can take a tour of the London Stadium, home to West Ham Football Club, or if you’re a bit of a thrill-seeker, you can head to the world's longest and tallest tunnel slide, the ArcelorMittal

Why Coach Hire?

If you’re heading up to the ExCel Centre as an exhibitor, the last thing you want to worry about is navigating the tubes or trying to follow the SatNav to get you and your staff there on time and hopefully in a stress-free manner. Coach hire eliminates this as our knowledgeable drivers and Traffic Managers know the area like the back of their hand and will have no problem getting you there, so you and your team can focus on the day ahead.

In terms of cost, depending on where you’re coming from, a train ticket can cost anywhere up from £30 to get into London, and that’s before the cost of tubes. If you’re wanting to drive to the ExCel Centre you can, but it costs £20 per car, and there’s no guarantee that you’ll get a space as you can’t pre-book online. Taking a coach means a cut in cost for everyone! Not only that, travelling by coach your driver can use bus lanes to get you right to your destination faster and smoother than by car and with no walking involved!
