Let's make every journey enjoyable, together.

We believe every journey should be as comfortable, safe and easy as possible. This guide brings together years of feedback from customers like you, plus a few friendly pointers of our own, to help make every trip a good one. Got something to add? We'd love to hear from you.

Safety

Your safety, and the safety of everyone travelling with you, always comes first.
  • Seatbelts. UK law requires every passenger to wear a seatbelt whenever seated, and we'd ask the same - it's the simplest way to keep yourself safe on board.
  • Luggage. Small items like rucksacks and laptop bags belong in the overhead racks — make sure anything you stow up there is secure, so nothing shifts or falls during the journey. Larger bags should go in the luggage hold; let your driver know, and they'll be happy to help you stow them safely (please don't try to lift or load these yourself). We can carry up to 20kg per passenger.
  • Keep gangways and exits clear. Bags left in the aisle, by the emergency exit, or on an empty seat can make it harder for others to move around or board — a spare seat is best kept spare.
  • Stay seated while we're moving, for your own safety — standing isn't possible on our coaches.
  • Know your exits. It's worth taking a moment to spot the emergency exits nearest to you when you board.
  • We come prepared. Every vehicle carries a first aid kit and fire extinguisher, ready for emergencies.
  • Travelling with an assistance animal? We'd love to help make that journey as smooth as possible — just contact us in advance so we can look after what you need. We can't carry other animals on board.
  • Kindness on board. We want everyone to feel comfortable travelling with us. That means being mindful that a joke or remark meant in good humour can land very differently for someone else — especially anything about a person's appearance, accent, background, or any other personal characteristic. Our team may ask a passenger to leave the vehicle if their behaviour puts others' comfort or safety at risk, including drunkenness, threats or abuse, or excessive noise from phones, speakers or other devices.

Comfort

A smooth journey is something we create together — here's how we can all help each other travel well.
  • No smoking, at any time, on any of our vehicles.
  • Give each other room. If the coach isn't full, spreading out a little helps everyone travel more comfortably.
  • Settling in to sleep? Lovely — we'd just ask you not to spread across an empty seat beside you, and if you're in the aisle seat next to a free window seat, please leave room for someone else to take it.
  • Phones on silent, please, and if a call can't wait, a quiet voice makes all the difference to those around you.
  • A gentle volume for conversations helps, especially for anyone hoping to rest.
  • Headphones for music and video. If you're streaming something on your device, a pair of headphones keeps it enjoyable for you without anyone else having to listen in.
  • Mindful snacking. We'd ask you to save the stronger-smelling food and drink for after your journey, out of consideration for fellow passengers.
  • Reclining your seat? By all means — a quick glance behind you first just helps make sure everyone stays comfortable.

Making boarding quick and easy

We want you settled and on your way with as little fuss as possible.
  • Have your ticket ready to go. Having your mobile ticket or contactless card to hand as you board helps everyone move through quickly. Card and mobile payment are welcome on board; we can't accept cash, so please buy a mobile ticket in advance or tap to pay as you board with a Single or Day Return.
  • Let your driver concentrate on the road. They're responsible for getting everyone there safely, so we'd ask you to keep conversation with them brief, and save it for when it's genuinely needed.
  • Carry some ID. Our team may occasionally ask to see identification to make sure your ticket's being used correctly, so it's worth having some with you.

Covid-19

Current advice on Covid-19 is much the same as for any other cold, flu or seasonal illness, and we'd simply ask you to bear that in mind when travelling with us.
  • Feeling unwell? If you have symptoms of Covid-19 or another infection, we'd ask you to avoid travelling where you can, especially if that means close contact with others.
  • Face coverings are entirely your choice these days — but strongly advised if you’re feeling unwell.
  • Hand hygiene. Carrying hand sanitiser and using it now and then is a simple habit that helps everyone stay well.
Most of our etiquette guide is just that: guidance, not a rule, and we trust you to use your own judgement — thank you for looking out for your fellow passengers.
Thank you for helping us make every journey a good one. If you have any questions or ideas of your own, we're always happy to hear from you.
